Experience
Dave is a seasoned professional with 24 years of experience in the valuation industry. He’s issued +1,300 valuation opinions during his career and has established a strong track record with the Big 4 and regional accounting firms.
Dave founded VIO after serving as Managing Director with Bay Valuation Advisors (“BVA”), where he spent a decade growing the company and cultivating relationships in the market. Mr. Ribando earned a reputation for technical excellence and developed cutting-edge valuation models that kept pace with the evolving GAAP standards. He also led talent initiatives by attracting and mentoring top-performing employees.
Before partnering with BVA, Dave served as Senior Manager with Deloitte’s Valuation Group in San Francisco. During his 10 years at Deloitte, he provided valuation services to major technology and life sciences companies in Silicon Valley and around the world. Dave also worked closely with Deloitte Audit to review third-party valuation opinions to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Education
Bachelor of Arts—BA, with majors in Accounting (Honors), Economics, and Finance
Dave was hungry to learn the fundamentals of business throughout his college experience and earned triple majors in Accounting (Honors), Economics, and Finance. He was also selected to participate in the school’s Honors business math program with a heavy focus on calculus and statistics. He graduated in four years with the highest academic designation of Summa Cum Laude.

Dave lives in San Francisco and is an outdoors enthusiast. He enjoys hiking, camping, running, yoga, and snowboarding. When not building Monte Carlo simulations, he can be found watching the Warriors or 49ers games and sipping a glass of California Cabernet.
Chris Orndorff
CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
A native of the Inland Northwest, Chris lives in Spokane, WA with his wife, Maria Helena, and energetic Border Collie, Yoshi. When he’s not engineering models, he can be found learning Spanish with his wife, playing tag with Yoshi, and hunting for the best sushi in Spokane.

Experience
For six remarkable years, Chris has partnered with public and private companies to provide services across an extensive variety of valuations. He’s led many hundreds of valuations and excels in collaborating with company management teams, their technical accounting advisors, and their external public auditors.
Chris co-founded VIO as Director to provide thoughtful and refined valuations to distinguish VIO from its competitors. Prior to joining VIO, Chris served as Manager at BVA where he underpinned the success of ten partners and managing directors. He also managed a team of eight analysts to deliver quarterly mark-to-market portfolio valuations to multi-national financial services and portfolio management clients.
Before entering the valuation world, Chris served as an analytics consultant in the private wealth group of a large money center bank in San Francisco. His internal strategy team provided data-driven strategic recommendations to executives and business partners. This real-world experience taught Chris how to derive insights from data and synthesize those insights into actionable results.
